It is perfect timing for me because I have no pressure, really. I have learned a lot, I am happy and I think this is going to be a fun season.” Lower Valley discounts audits Lower Valley Energy is offering residents half-price home energy audits through the end of the month. The audits, which normally cost $100, will be offered for $50 through August 31st. As part of the audit, Lower Valley employees measure the energy efficiency of residential homes heated by electricity by looking at things such as insulation and windows and make recommendations on how the home can be made more efficient. For more information please call Lower Valley Energy at 307 733-2446. Room reservations strengthen According to the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, weekend reservations at valley hotels and motels were down just 6 percent from the same time last year. Valley wide, visitors booked 85 percent of available rooms for Saturday. In 2008, 90 percent of rooms were booked. Teton Village stood out last week, with 90 percent of rooms reserved – only 1 percent less than last year. Teton Gravity sells ski film Teton Gravity Research announced a distribution partnership with the award-winning documentary Swift.Silent.Deep. The film profiles one of skiing’s most notorious tribes – Jackson Hole Air Force. Swift.Silent.Deep. is the first true historical documentation of hardcore ski bum culture in North America. The film tells the story of secretive, underground crew who called themselves the Jackson Hole Air Force, a band of civil disobedients who explored the unknown realm of “out of bounds” at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. “The story of the Jackson Hole Air Force is one of the best stories in skiing,” said Steve Casimiro, of National Geographic Adventure. The DVD is available for sale online at shop.tetongravity.com.
